| 454223 | 2006-05-12 00:03:00 | I am running Windows XP Service Pack 2. Almost every email received is shown as having an attachment (shown with paper clip). There is no differentiation from the emails that in fact do have an attachment. This has been the case for some time. Over the last week or so it has not been possible to open any attachment either by clicking the paper clip or by clicking the attachment title on the actual email. The Security box "Do not allow attachments....could potentially ba a virus" is not ticked |

| 454225 | 2006-05-13 06:36:00 | Many thanks you guessed right - I am using AVG but the Free Edition not Professional. I have clicked on Email > Properties but there is no reference to Settings. However now that you have explained the reason I guess that I can live with it. Can you throw any light on why I am currently unable to open Attachments that are in fact attachments? |

| 454231 | 2006-05-15 06:37:00 | drcspy You have solved the problem concerning all emails showing a paperclip. That will save one annoyance. Thanks. However I can still not open the attachment coming with a new email. Do you have any ideas for this problem with Outlook Express? |

| 454232 | 2006-05-15 08:12:00 | Do you have your email security settings in the Internet Zone or Restricted Zone? Try switching if they are the latter. Are you able to open the e-mail message in Outlook Express and then on the File menu, click Save Attachments? Since the problem has only just begun in the past week you might want to think about what changes have been made to your computer since then. Have you downloaded new MS updates? Installed any new security programs? |
