2006-05-11 03:28:00 Just installed Open Office from the latest PC World CD and just cannot fathom out how to make the default stay on A4 size. The opening default is Letter but I want it to boot straight into A4 not letter. Perhaps it is a registry hack? Any ideas?

2006-05-11 04:10:00 The printer settings are set to A4, it is the actual document that I need to make A4. I can change the page set up each time theough the format menu, but it is a bit messy to have to do this each time. I suppose I could always set u-p a template but this does not stop the program booting up a Letter sixed page to start with. Thanks though.

2006-05-12 00:37:00 Since Open Office is a *nix thing, ported to Windows, it might have a directory called "etc". If so (or anyway ;) ), look for a file called "papersize" (or something like that) in etc/ or in the OO installation. If it's there, edit it (standard text file) so the A4 line comes first.

("open office papersize" to Google gets as its first match someone in Canada complaining that OO defaults to A4. :DPerhaps North America gets "A4"and the rest of the world gets "letter". )

2006-05-13 05:14:00 Yes Yes this was the answer. What a performance to get there though. You were a lot more persistent than me. The first site in your list was spot on, thanks Foxy MX, I appreciate your help. Thanks to everyone else as well.
