454964 2006-05-15 07:09:00 Hi
Recently i got a Microsoft Wireless Keyboard & Optical mouse. The reciver requires a USB port.

I think the blue screen of death is caused by this

There are 2 types of blue screens comming.

1) Base at A8101000, Datestamp 438 D5EA6

2) Stop 0X0000000008EX(0X0000005, 0X8051C1EB, 0XA722E7C8, 0X00000000)

Anyone come across this?

454965 2006-05-15 07:50:00 0x0000008E: KERNEL_MODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED
(Click to consult the online MSDN article.)
A kernel mode program generated an exception which the error handler didn’t catch. These are nearly always hardware compatibility issues (which sometimes means a driver issue or a need for a BIOS upgrade).

454967 2006-05-21 21:43:00 No help with your problem, but I recently hocked off my wireless desktop because it was a pest if I was doing anything at boot time. Windows needs to be part way started before you have access to the keyboard.

Using CD/floppy based repair programs for instance: I usually needed to connect up PS/2 keyboard and mouse.

USB devices aren't proving much better in this regard and I still need to revert to PS/2 now and then even though USB mouse & k/b are enabled in BIOS.

I have seen various things on the net saying Intelli software is a problem.
Have you tried a different version of the drivers?

454969 2006-05-22 02:57:00 My A4Tech USB mouse bluscreened windows at boot after installing Sp2

I just had to update the driver...

Check USB legacy device support is enabled in the BIOS (for both Keyboard and mouse)

Check for a BIOS update

Do you get the BSOD with the Wireless set disconnected and using a standard ps2 kb/mouse?

you could also check motherboard USB controller drivers [update??] (especially USB 2.0 if you have it)
