454533 2006-05-13 04:01:00 Hi Team

I need to convert some classical music tracks from MP3 to CD audio. Does anybody know of or recommend a reliable freeware programme to do this? It is pretty much a once-off need to help my daughter practise some music for a coming performance so I don't wamt to go buying anything.

I thought Roxio Easy CD creator might do it, but I can't see any reference in their manual.

Cheers

454534 2006-05-13 04:05:00 Nero should.

Well, you can either make an audio or an MP3, if u have a stereo that can play MP3's.

454535 2006-05-13 04:14:00 Nero does quite happily - mine is version 5.

Be sure tho to normalise your tracks, especially if they come from different sources.

454537 2006-05-13 05:23:00 Nero dose it, Windows Media Player dose it. I know because I have used both programs for converting MP3s to CD.

Well, I now see that WMP can convert MP3 to CDA and burn it to CD via Roxio CD Creator, but there is no way I can find to transfer the MP3 files to the playlist for burning. WMP seems to want to look no further than its own preset folders and doesn't offer a browse function. If I can't get my files into the playlist, I can't burn them!

I have Nero around somewhere and could try that, but I'll look at cdex next.

454540 2006-05-14 05:11:00 I have always used Nero. It is as simple as selecting Create a Music CD then dragging and dropping the files from one side of the window to the other then burning.

Just remember to burn the CD at a slow speed to ensure maximum compatibility with what you intend to play them on.

you may have to download a plug-in for mp3, you want the converter, via Godfather.

Looks good to me, but before I download, what do you mean by:
You may have to download a plug-in for mp3, you want the converter, via Godfather.
Under what circumstances might I need a plug-in, and the reference to GF has me scratching my head. GF hasn't posted in this thread, so what's the connection?

Cheers
