455111 2006-05-15 21:26:00 I have downloaded Yahoo toolbar and it has taken control of my computer and I can't delete it and system restore won't go back either.
My icons on the screen will get me into the programmes all except Internet Explorer which of course is what I am using now by devious means.
IE is still there but Yahoo rides over it.
Please help to dump this Yahoo..Ron..

455112 2006-05-15 21:34:00 I am sure in the past I have just add/remove programs. Maybe something like CCcleaner might do the trick. sam m (517)
455113 2006-05-15 22:04:00 Thanks for the reply, but have tried those and Yahoo still there.

The funny thing is that Yahoo doesn't show in any files or foders..

455115 2006-05-16 02:11:00 I cleaned and purged a puter for a friend the other day, and he asked me to install Y! for him.......big mistake

The first thing was TeaTimer jumped up and said there were registry changes that were requested for things other than what I was clicking...and then Windows Defender got all upset too.

I stopped the download and told SpyBot to remember the denial.

I feel that every time Y! is involved there is some kinda spyware being inserted or something that's broken.

I personally had YTalk for a while, but the wheels kept on falling off while I was vid-chatting. I have a very high DSL speed, so it wasn't piling up and needing spooling at Yahoo....I just dropped the whole thing and am a lot happier without anything Y!.

Maybe your problems were with some malware that Y! was trying to install or broken code.

455119 2006-05-16 06:28:00 I too got the Yahoo bar earlier today. Still haven't figured which site I visited dropped it on me. Start > Search showed it in about five places. Normal control panel > delete process seemed to get rid of them all. Scouse (83)
455120 2006-05-16 16:03:00 If you use FireFox/Mozilla, look at your VIEW on the toolbar, and hover over TOOLBARS . I bet Yahoo is there . . . just unclick it to make it not show .

I think Yahoo is a package deal with FireFox/Mozilla suite . . . too bad . . . . and such a nice browser in bed with that nonsense .
