455646 2006-05-19 01:11:00 FrankS, What influence could the email client have on actions that Xtra should be taking at the server? PaulD (232)
455647 2006-05-20 04:00:00 Agree Xtra should have facility to delete Spam at source for Netscape users but it is IE orientated. Have used the MailWasher method to delete Xtra Spam before downloading, it also allows you to download something marked as spam by Xtra when you know it is not spam. When this happens you can put the sender on the Friends list. FrankS (257)

PaulD was asking you a question, not agreeing with you.
How can the version of mail client affect the Xtra spam filter which is running on their mail server. To say it is IE orientated is nonsense.
There are many different mail programes in use, Thunderbird Opera mail. Eudora Mac mail to name a few and if the Xtra spam filter deletes the spam mail from the server then you will not download it even if you are using Netscape mail.

455649 2006-05-21 04:27:00 When you set up a mail client you are asked by Xtra to specify if you want spam removed before download, this request did not work for Netscape, hence use of MailWasher. Re IE comment presume XTRAMSN has no meaning. This morning Xtra had problems and resulted in MailWasher being unable to parse the unique-id listing. Was able to download all mail including about 30 spam which had to be manually deleted,so beg to disagree about being unable to download Xtra marked spam. .Presume other mail programmes can specify Xtra spam removal before download. The delete SPAM at the server option is set in Xtra's web mail access not in your own mail client. xtra.co.nz

Are you having trouble accessing http://xtramail.xtra.co.nz/ and setting the option there using Netscape browser?

455651 2006-05-21 06:10:00 Why not make a rule in Outlook Express to delete or put in a Spam Folder for Xtra marked (SPAM). This would take care of the few that get though. I have works extremely well.

Happy to give directions if required.
