| 455357 | 2006-05-16 11:33:00 | Hi James Both formulas you posted have syntax errors. This one : =IF(J7=0,"",IF=J7>15000,21%,20%) should look like this : =IF(J7=0,"",IF(J7>15000,21%,20%)) And this one : =IF(J6=0,"","=PMT(K7/12,I7*12,0,J7)/26"). should look like this : =IF(J6=0,"",PMT(K7/12,I7*12,0,J7)/26) I haven't tested the accuracy of the pmt function - I have just given the syntax of how these should look. | 455358 | 2006-05-16 21:00:00 | cheers, now i just need to find out if my pmt function is giving me the correct answer i copied my friends pmt cos his ones different to mine and his one doesn't show a DIV/0! error. it's =PMT(K6/26,4*26,I6) where K6 is the interest rate of either 20 or 21% and 26 is the number of fortnightly payments per year. 4 is the number of years to payback. and I6 is the loan amount that cannot exceed $30,000. This new pmt formulae im using doesn't get affected by terms column however. and im wondering if it is correct compared to my other one. =PMT(K4/12,I4*12,0,J4)/26 |

| 455359 | 2006-05-16 21:05:00 | by the way andrew in your correction (and in my submission) we got the < the wrong way around for the =IF(I6=0,"",IF(I6<15000,21%,20%)). lol. but it works now. Ah i c wats the problem. the Fortnightly repaymens amount pmt doesn't display as nothing or $0 if the intersest rate is blank. therefore my interest rate has to just be a normal funtion and not an IF function to make it blank when theres no loan amount. |
