1402555 2015-06-12 02:06:00 I have a very old program on two floppy disks. How old? The instructions on the label say "Start Microsoft Windows 3.1". The app is all about folding paper airplanes.

It runs OK on WinXP, and also on XP in a VM, but will not install on Win7, even if I set it to run in compatibility mode for Win XP.

I would like to have it running natively if I can, just for convenience.

Any ideas?

1402556 2015-06-12 02:16:00 If it runs on Windows 3.1 and your copy of Windows 7 is 64-bit, it simply won't work as the program will be 16-bit. pcuser42 (130)

That's an interesting link. My program also has many different plane styles, with animations on how to fold them. It also has sections on aerodynamics etc. For its time it was a very cool program, I always thought.

not long after vista came out i got 64bit hardware and upgraded from 32bit xp to 64bit xp. now as windows 10 readies release i upgrade from windows 10 to server 2016. vm is ideal.

1402564 2015-06-12 07:56:00 Yes, I might try it on DOSBox.

Of course DOSBox isn't going to help me - this is a Windows program. not DOS. D'oh!
