| 1401863 | 2015-06-02 23:03:00 | I have an Acer Aspire Laptop computer running Windows 7. The setup sticker on the outside of the computer case has become scratched so that it is no longer able to be read. Is there someway I can get the setup details from inside the computer ? ie the Product Code ? While I am at it, how do I make the text larger ? |

| 1401865 | 2015-06-02 23:37:00 | I have an Acer Aspire Laptop computer running Windows 7. The setup sticker on the outside of the computer case has become scratched so that it is no longer able to be read. Is there someway I can get the setup details from inside the computer ? ie the Product Code ? If its still a factory install, ie Win hasnt yet been re-installed... ... then That install key , that you extract from Windows, CANNOT BE USED. It will only work with the Acers OEM Windows install. Acer, HP etc etc have their own install key that will not work, will not activate on the usual OEM or retail install CD's There really isnt alot you can do. Ive had to resort to using install keys from other PC's when the COA sticker is unreadable. Either that or make/buy restore CD's Evidently , there was an issue with ink just fading or coming off the COA sticker install code key on some laptops.Ive seen quite a few like that. On a side note, has anyone found a keyreader that can extract Office 2010 & 2013 install keys. |

(Run it as admin) OP - there is nothing you can do, other than get a different key, or contact Acer - sometimes they can send recovery media, while that won't give you the key, at least it will make the computer usable. This is another reason creating the recovery media is important. |
