1401830 2015-06-02 04:03:00 flaty has 120GB slim ps3
ordered 1TB drive.

i put both in my computer and used HDCLONE to make a bit-for-bit clone of the source to the target.

popped 1TB into ps3 and she boots fine

rummage round in settings and it comes up with 11GB free of 931GB

how am i to remedy this teething problem?

1401831 2015-06-02 04:30:00 or is it 11G of 120G free ?
Did the clone just make a 120G partition on the new drive ? Some cloning software/options recreates the original partition size.

1401833 2015-06-02 05:05:00 also, i ticked the box in HDCLONE specifying "automatically adjust" Mirddes (10)
1401834 2015-06-02 10:39:00 Its not simple to clone content from ps3 to a new drive, it usually has to be formatted by the ps3.

The free space sounds like it could be the 12GB builtin flash drive.

You may need to look at alternative ways to back up your data and restore it to the 1TB drive which needs to be formatted. You can make use of USB sticks, maybe hard drives and the built-in flash drive.

Cheers,

1401835 2015-06-03 15:28:00 formatted external usb2.0-data+power harddrive with FAT32 (oddly of 150GB, 20GB was 'used' after the format... o.O), backed up ~100GB of data from 1TB drive and will restore backup tomorrow after formatting 1TB using the PS3 menu.

have a great day.
