1402409 2015-06-10 10:40:00 I saw the blue tile with a white envelope with a blue flap. Is this the one you mean? When I open it , it appears to be Hotmail!!! PJHotmail, Live mail, Outlook.com, Outlook.co.nz = All the same thing now on the web based version. wainuitech (129)
1402410 2015-06-10 10:41:00 It'll be whatever account you log into windows with by default but you can add other accounts to it, I have Gmail and 2 xtra accounts on mine.
To add accounts you have to use the dreaded charms bar by moving the mouse pointer off to the top right.

1402411 2015-06-10 21:38:00 It looks as if 2009 was meant for XP. How did you get it to work? PJ

Download it from the link Lawrence provided in post #9

Uninstall your current version.

Then install the 2009 version.

1402412 2015-06-11 01:06:00 Given that my "understanding" ability is not good these days...will the 2009 be easier & less complicated than the present 0ne? 2012? PJ Poppa John (284)

1402415 2015-06-11 01:21:00 I use live mail and am happy with it but have you tried the "metro" style E-mail? You may hate it even more but you already have it so if you haven't tried it you may as well. Usually to be found on the start screen, a blue tile with an envelope icon. If it's not there just type mail on the start screen and that should find it.

Can you tell me more about that "metro" you mentioned? PJ

1402416 2015-06-11 01:28:00 Metro is what MS originally called the new tile based start screen and full screen apps in windows 8 until someone sued them and made them stop using the name, now nobody really knows what to call them which is why I used speech marks.
It just refers to the new apps that come bundled with windows 8 & 10 and in the app store. The mail program that comes with 8 is one of those apps, uses larger fonts, a full screen bordeless display, and is designed to play nice with tablets and touchscreens.

Still, it's easy enough to use and might suit some people.
