1402166 2015-06-07 06:58:00 Mozilla Thunderbird is a great email client that lives on despite changes in operating systems. johnd (85)
1402167 2015-06-07 11:29:00 Windows is very good at installing its own printer drivers, now.

If you have a gmail account, seriously consider using the browser interface. That way you will never have to migrate email and contacts again. After many years of using Thunderbird as a client I have now switched to the browser and will never go back to a client again.

1402169 2015-06-08 03:31:00 Thinking about Thunderbird as I've played with it before.

Now if only I can get the printer work on the lappy, via wifi.....

1402170 2015-06-08 03:39:00 You wont get the printer to print wirelessly if it's not wireless. You need a USB cable. Or buy a wireless printer Speedy Gonzales (78)
1402171 2015-06-08 04:52:00 If you have MS Office, you might have MS Outlook. Thats the best option for email. 1101 (13337)

Agree. I swapped from an ISP email last year to outlook.com which means I can keep all email synced across multiple desktops (Office 365 and web) and mobile devices..

1402173 2015-06-08 09:33:00 I believe Thunderbird gives me the best of both worlds. I use a Gmail account and the web interface when I feel like it but I also have a Snap account - Thunderbird enables me to manage both email accounts from the one interface. johnd (85)
1402174 2015-06-09 00:17:00 Not trying to change your usage, but did you know the gmail web interface can handle multiple accounts incl non-gmail ones? linw (53)
1402175 2015-06-09 00:50:00 You wont get the printer to print wirelessly if it's not wireless. You need a USB cable. Or buy a wireless printer You can, as long as the Router supports a USB printer connected directly. Set up a few like that, BUT if the Router is not capable then yep its a no go unless the printer is connected to another PC that's on the same network, it can then be installed as a shared Printer. wainuitech (129)
