1391339	2015-01-02 02:28:00	My family in Graham Valley has grown tobacco since just after WW1. It was previously grown in Riverhead but Aucklands humidity was not the best growing conditions because of root rot and fungus diseases. Its just a weed and will grow ok but growing it is the easy part, its smoking homegrown stuff which is the problem. Its been good to my family we never smoked it only grew it. It saved my ancestors asses from German/Jap/Italian/Hungarian bullets as it was a war critical industry and they had to stay and grow the stuff. When I left home at 17 I had a brand new motorcycle and a good car from money earned in farming it. Went to the airforce as an engine fitter and took a massive pay drop. A lot of people whinge at the price of piss and say they will make homebrew which tastes like **** most of the time. Much easier to go to the liquor store and buy a box of piss. Same with tobacco the home grown stuff tastes like **** and its easier to get a pack from the dairy than growing it. Yates uses to sell it look in an older Yates catalogue, you will see it . It never caught on for a good reason because people wanted to breathe after having a smoke.	prefect (6291)
1391340	2015-01-02 04:07:00	Husband grew it years ago...it tastes like cigars. Which is why people add flavourings during the drying/processing stage. You need a lot of room to grow enough to keep you supplied.... When we were down South met some people who got supplies from some dodgy character who would come down from up North (Nrth of the Nrth Island). Well it is addictive. We have been using the e-smokes......nicotine variety. Not as good though. If the govt wanted it gone, they could ban it, putting the price up was the Maori parties idea....it just makes a lot of people scrimp on other things.....or steal. But of course the govt makes so much money from it now, they won't do that. And Prefect - wait till they start on alcohol. No-one ever crashed and killed other people cause they had too many smokes and drove. No-one ever had too many smokes and decided to commit domestic violence. Etc....	pctek (84)

The diff is piss is not harmful if not abused, bit like water if you drink too much of it it will kill you. Every ciggie is killing you.
