1390979 2014-12-26 23:59:00 the profit is driven from volume sales. actual % profit on one item can be next to nothing.
the other thing is they have to get rid of the old stock because there is new models coming through.

1390980 2014-12-27 00:17:00 I hardly ever actually go to a shop, boxing day or not.
In fact, boxing day - the idea is a nightmare....
But regardless of if you go or jump online.....I think the sales are bullshit.
Mostly anyway.....

Yeap and there tag line is better sales through marketing ha.

In saying that my old Mazda 3 MPS had a factory bose system, didn't sound too bad for build it. Had a sub built into the spare wheel.

I bought a dishwasher and a bathroom vanity. Exciting indeed.

Nothing wrong with the gear just feel you can get better value for money if you don't mind not having an out of box solution

Don't know about value for money, that's probably in the ear of the audiophile, but one of my mates got something very similar a few years ago, it came with a demo disc. Apparently one part of the disc had barking dogs on it, neighbours turned up to complain that his dogs were terrifying their dogs and could he keep them under control, and stop them barking please.

These sales are only worth watching if you have a product in mind and a fair idea of the normal pricing .

I bought a Samsung 48" LCD tv for $600 from Smiths City . Its basic in flat screen terms but generations ahead of the Panasonic cathode ray set I'm looking at as I write . Almost bought it for $700 a couple of weeks ago . So yes, the sales are worth watching .

Generally I choose Panasonic but the equivalent set was $850 and Samsung is reliable enough as a manufacturer . Could have purchased an LG for less or with more features, but never been entirely confident of the brand . I have an LG blueray player which works but it doesn't like fast forwarding through discs and refuses to play some videos on USB . There are comments on the net about upgrading this player's firmware and the machine freezes up completely .

1390988 2014-12-27 19:13:00 I avoid shops in general Xmas week, starting monday when the craziness settles down a bit I may go for a look. Whatever deals there might be they save me less than not shopping at all and who wants to deal with the insanity.
I saw the queue to get into the carpark at one shopping centre as I went past, that alone would stop me going. I do check out online deals though, no pain there.
