| 1390559 | 2014-12-18 21:12:00 | On the news this morning, an Australian went missing between Waitewaewae Hut and Otaki Forks which is on the western side of the Tararuas, Stuff website heads the story with a photo of the Atiwhatiku river which is on the eastern side of the main range, just about as far away from the scene of the search as you could get. www.stuff.co.nz |

They are reporting news not providing a map for searchers. |

| 1390562 | 2014-12-19 00:27:00 | On the news this morning, an Australian went missing Mistakes happen (for example Austrians don't come from Australia) , and it's probably just the closest stock photo they found. Not really relevant to the story but it gives a visual of the general area. |

| 1390565 | 2014-12-19 02:09:00 | How can the press be so ignorant ? Ask nzherald.co.nz - I beleive they hold the current franchise for Ignorance in the Fourth Estate. They continually Show Thinkstock pictures of either a Police no entry ribbon, or a cop car - to illustrate that they are reporting on a crime, Show Thinkstock pictures of a pair of handcuffs attached to someone's wrists - to illustrate the the cops have made an arrest, Show file pics of anything that remotely may fit the written word, e.g. an image of a Boeing 747 to accompany a pic of a Boeing 717 in distress, Show pics of events days old, passing them off as "breaking news". And these clowns expect any thinking person to pay money for their two bit rag? :angry |

Not really relevant to the story but it gives a visual of the general area. There are zillions of photos of Otaki Forks that Stuff could have used. DOC could have supplied them if neccessary, or even one of Waitewaewae Hutt of which there will be not a few. It's almost like having a story about goings on in Wellington headed by a photo of Nelson. :banana It doesn't even 'give a visual of the general area', the eastern Tararuas are distinctly different to the western side. |

| 1390567 | 2014-12-19 04:42:00 | I agree Terry its just NATO standard numbnuts media reporting. There is a worse one than NZ Herald that's the Daily Mail in poverty rock, their reporting on military stuff is so appalling its funny. | prefect (6291) | ||
