456138 2006-05-19 11:23:00 I recently got a cable modem and want to keep an eye on my usage. I have Netmeter installed and it shows that I am downloading at about 10 KB/s when I am not browsing the internet or anything. This is about 10 minutes after booting up and so I believe it isn't updating antivirus etc. There is no windows update icon showing, so I don't think it's that.

I want to know how I can check which program is downloading. Not sure how.

I am currently running spyware scans, Ad-Aware now and will do Spybot next.

456140 2006-05-19 11:36:00 Right, I have McAfee Personal Firewall and checked what is currently connecting and all it says is Application LAyer Gateway Service, Seamonkey, Avast Email Scanner Service, and System Process. So which one is using the bandwidth?

Just typing this post in Seamonkey shouldn't be using 10 KB/s!

Application LAyer Gateway Service is for your firewall and Netmeter to function .

Seamonkey sounds pretty suspect, kill it and see what happens
