2006-05-19 06:48:00 | Any opinions on best AV software? I have AVG free and zonealarm, just wondering if anything better is out there? Thanks! | yorkiekiwi (10131) | |
2006-05-19 06:58:00 | There's a lot of them. BUT, programs like Symantec AV / Internet Security, most of the posts here say, it's a memory hog, and slow a system down. So, if you havent got a lot of ram, dont get programs like this.

However, there are some minorities who will disagree with me on this point of view. Otherwise, AVG or Avast! antivirus is good enough for an average computer user, as long as you keep it updated all the time and regularly perform full scan. Cheers :) |

2006-05-19 09:02:00 | BitDefender's been getting good press. Good review here: http://anti-virus-software-review.toptenreviews.com/ Changes from month to month, not long ago NAV & AVG were top of the pops, now they're down the gurgler. For some reason Nod32 never seems to appear in reviews although a lot of techies swear by it. Anybody know why?

2006-05-19 09:11:00 | McAfee 2006 is pretty good but internet speed sucker if you use dial-up. Norton is the second best for me, both are internet speed sucker. But McAfee updates are much better. And detection of virus is pretty good. | MTLance (6768) | |
