| 455739 | 2006-05-18 12:35:00 | This brand new ASUS notebook is working fine except that those CD control buttons in front of the unit don't work as described in the User Manual. According to the Manual, the CD Power button can turn on the CD player when the notebook OS is OFF. All other control buttons can then control the functions of the CD player like: play, stop, ... etc But in this case, when the CD Power button is pressed, it turns on Windows instead of the CD Player! Took the Notebook to the ASUS service centre, the tech flashed the BIOS , but still behaving the same. He took another brand new set out to check and found that it is behaving exactly the same way as mine. Went to the shop where I got it from , tested the demo unit and it is exactly the same! Sent an email to ASUS technical support and the tech replied my email asking me to reinstall the ATK0100 ACPI driver and ATK-Media Utilities (downloading from their site) which I did but still, behaving the same. Have they mis-printed the User Manual??? What shall I do next? |

No, mine's a Z9200U, had it a year and until 2 minutes ago I'd never played a music CD on it. I now find that all buttons work perfectly. |
