455726 2006-05-18 10:24:00 hi, my friend gets random popups for dating and porn sites just when surfing anywhere, i'm guessing its a spyware thing but i installed stopzilla which seems to stop them, anyone know of any other GOOD popup blockers? Jimmy D (2061)
455727 2006-05-18 10:31:00 Chances are they are being served up from the machine itself, If thats the case Popup blockers will do nothing, You need to rid the machine of the installed adware. Metla (12)
455728 2006-05-18 10:32:00 If your mate has spyware or adware

The easiest way, is to remove the entries / files on his system.

Get him to get the file in my sig below, if he's on the net, and post the log here.

Or get S&D (www.spybot.info)

Download the 1st and 2nd file under download.

I doubt a popup blocker would fix it.

455731 2006-05-18 11:02:00 Netscape (newest version) has a pop up blocker AND also anti-virus and anti-spyware. Free. Strommer (42)
455732 2006-05-18 11:08:00 Google Toolbar would serve as an excellent pop-up blocker -> http://toolbar.google.com/

Cheers :)

455733 2006-05-18 12:08:00 Netscape (newest version) has a pop up blocker AND also anti-virus and anti-spyware. Free.I'm an old Netscape fan, but the latest doesn't do it for me. Mozilla is better. Greg (193)
455734 2006-05-18 23:17:00 I havn't used Netscape for years, last version I used was pre Mozilla and was horribly slow and bloated.

Firefox all the way!
