| 455788 | 2006-05-22 04:51:00 | When they took over, they inherited an old run down phone system. To their credit, Telecom at first, put investment into modernizing it. But somewhere, somehow, they got complacent, sat on their wallets and watched the money roll in. After all, they had goverment protection to their network. Is that right. My husband was still working for them just as they took over. Far from old and run down he'd just spent months touring NZ installing the latest NEAX equipment. The exchnages them selves then were tody, well maintained with nice clearly labelled tidy cabling. Now its a pigsty and is old and run down. |

| 455790 | 2006-05-22 05:23:00 | Far...There was an outage with ihug about two weeks ago.A Ihug staffed who i talked to on the phone said that everybody is logging in concurrently and that the system is overloaded however the net was back to its usual state an hour after the outage..I'm pretty sure xtra could've done that as well.I still can't buy a filet o fish with $3.25 at Mcdonalds."sigh"... | Ninjabear (2948) | ||

| 455792 | 2006-05-23 11:34:00 | When SKY was out for a day or whatever it was, did they get the same negative comments when they refunded the period it was out? I got $1 odd back. I didnt mind, it is reliable, if they have a problem, well that fine, and thats life. My Broadband is reliable also, so what is the real problem? Is it unfair not to refund one months fee for being out a few hours or a day or so? I feel the real issue is anti-Telecom venting. In the future who will complain to their provider when no-one will upgrade to get ADSL to their home when its not worth it? I guess those who have Broadband in an area where it also wasnt worth it, but they got it will be happy | tdale (10424) | ||
