| 456215 | 2006-05-19 22:47:00 | Should I or should I not use a Firewall for my home computer? I'm considering to install Zone Alarm but still undecided, yet. What are the pros and cons of having Zone Alarm? Your views, please. Cheers |

I spose it depends on WHAT version of ZA you get. And whether you want to pay for it, or not. One version may be better / do more than another version. Altho, ZA can sometimes play up / slow a system down, when Windows is loading. I spose it also depends on WHAT you do on the net.....On whether u need a firewall, or not. Just make sure Windows is up to date, if u dont want to use a firewall. |

If you do a search there are a couple of free firewalls still available . ZA has a great reputation, but it can slow systems down and be glitchy at times . cheers, Robby |

ZA is good for beginners, others (sygate, tiny, kerio, outpost etc) are also good but are generally a little harder to use. |
