456712 2006-05-21 23:20:00 I recently purchased an IBM E74 screen from TradeMe, and have been unable to 'plug and play.' It will not even show the machine booting up, it reads 'No Signal' as if not plugged into the machine.

I have checked the plug, and do not have the same problem with any other screens. I have also tested it on other machines with no problem. Are there any software or hardware conflicts I should attempt to repair, or do you have any other suggestions?

456713 2006-05-22 00:05:00 Take a look at the pins some might be bent. Otherwise it is a dead monitor. You should see something on your screen at boot up regardless of OS. KiwiTT_NZ (233)

456715 2006-05-22 00:44:00 What about the computer on the which the monitor seems dead, have you tried another monitor? It may be a video card/video socket problem. Terry Porritt (14)

Maybe it is trying to drive it at an incompatible refresh rate, but you'd think it would at least display the boot sequence before throwing a hissy fit.

Sounds pretty odd to me...........perhaps sacrificing a couple of virgins might help?

P.S. I was joking about the virgins, they're almost impossible to find these days, so try a couple of chickens instead.

456717 2006-05-22 05:30:00 I have found the problem. It seems that the IBM E74 Monitor is not at all compatable with the Radeon 9200. I have temporarily replaced it with an NVidia GE Force. Thanks Guys! nzbarman (10431)
