2006-05-24 07:13:00 | I note in Fuji instruction book,it says that some things may not work with a USB hub. I seem to remember that one can get different kinds of hubs, powered etc. Could I have the good oil on this,as when in Dickies the lads seemed a bit vague. Ta.

2006-05-24 07:43:00 | there is powered hubs which get around any power issues but some devices simply will not run on hubs and some won't even run on add in (pci) usb cards. they will ONLY run the motherboard usb ports (which kinda sucks). i couldn't tell you which/what device won't run on what.....sorry:(

2006-05-24 10:59:00 | Only issue's I come accross through work is MOSTLY with devices that draw power through the USB. Often the smaller hub's that aren't powered won't work with the device, and with laptops we have found even some of the powered hub's won;t work with laptops. Unfortunitly it's quite random brand wise & often works on one brand of laptop but not another so a bit hard to know exactly why. Cheers KiwiMR2

2006-05-24 11:12:00 | Hi C. The Pickyness as you call it does appear to be random. Your manual, at page 99, under Notes: "The software may not operate correctly when you use an extension cable or connect the camera via a USB hub." But it does.

Seems these hubs and their idiosyncratic ways must remain a mystery. |
