457048 2006-05-23 02:47:00 I have purchased an OEM version of windows XP which has been installed on my computer at home. I also own a Laptop computer which is currently running Windows ME. I would like to install my legitimate OEM version of windows XP on the laptop too. Is this possible? I dont want to install it on the laptop only to find because it has been registered twice that the main computer has been frozen re updates (if that can happen).

Also when the people installed Windows XP they spelt my name wrong by one letter, not a major... but it does irk my sensibilities. I guess I am stuck with a misspelt name, as I can't think of any way it can be changed... not without a reinstall which is out of the question because of the other programs I would need to reinstall and update - Is my thinking correct?

Regards, Shomenno

There are version of Office that allow you to install it on more than one machine but not an OEM version of an operating system!

To correct the spelling of your name check out this (windowsxp.mvps.org) site
