457008 2006-05-23 01:04:00 A number if Netguide issues ago there was a programme to convert pdf to word, free on the cover cd.

I am pretty sure I have the CD still. Does anyone remember which issue it was?

It required online registration...

457009 2006-05-23 09:39:00 You do realise this is the NZ PC World web site ... ;)

Have you tried looking around their website for this information?

457011 2006-05-23 21:42:00 The only application I am aware of that was given away a while back (no idea if Netguide had it though), was SolidPDF converter.

It was a while back for that one, and what usually happens is that the "online registration" is only available for a month or two, so even if you do locate the CD and the application there is no surety that you will still get the free serial number via the registration process.

SolidPDF works well by the way, but as with all converters it can only work if the PDF is unprotected and is a true text based one, not a scanned image.

457012 2006-05-23 22:58:00 You can get a free trial online of SolidPDF but - it's a bit clever. It converts 10% of what you feed it and then invites you to subscribe.

It certainly works. I suppose you could feed it the same document x 10 and fool it. Let us know.

457013 2006-05-24 00:53:00 Remember, "Google is your friend" (www.google.co.nz)

One selection from the above Google page is here, a freebie PDF to Word converter. (www.pdfpdf.com)
