| 457003 | 2006-05-23 00:08:00 | Which TV cards work well with Media Portal? Which Satelite Cards " " " " ? Do I need both? Will 1 card both? I " may " use my existing dish to pull down a well known Sat cast. How many channels can be got & and with what clarity? If your setup is working well, feel free to post your setup. Thanks |

| 457004 | 2006-05-23 01:55:00 | I have been using MediaPortal RC4 for about a month now on a machine I built up. My MP PC specs: AMD Sempron 2400+ 512MB DDR 60GB HDD 64MB Geforce4 MX440 Hauppauge PVR500MCE I went with the Hauppauge card as it is a twin tuner model so I can record 2 channels at the same time. It also has an FM tuner but I don't use it. I don't use the PC to watch TV at all, it's only a recorder, and it sits in a corner of the room with just power, aerial and LAN connections. I use XMLTVNZ (www.reven.co.nz) to grab the epg for TV1, TV2 and TV3 (the only channels I can get at the moment :(.) I use the Xbox Media Center plugin (home.iprimus.com.au) which allows me to use my modded xbox to schedule any recordings and I also use the xbox to watch the recordings on my TV. Still playing around with ComSkip to remove the adds out of the programs after they are recorded. Not having much luck with this. |
