| 456848 | 2006-05-22 10:13:00 | help on my pc i have a coppy of zone alarm running If i look at the log it has blocked 100s of svchost.exe from conexting to the net. is this normal as there is so many? also i got a erro mesage generic host servises for windows could not start or somomthing simlar at start up although this has stopt but i can see that zone alarm is blocking it from the net and sometimes when i dial up and conect i cant get anthing to go ie no pages in the browser and no msn mesanger are theses things linked? how can it be fixed? |

| 456849 | 2006-05-22 10:18:00 | check in ZA program control for svchost, it should be allowed access the net BUT should have X in sever. you will get lots of atemps of trying to connect from the net to svchost, they are virus's. for dailup users you need svchost to connect to get web pages and you need it to connect to auto download MS updates. one thing to watch is there are virus which call themselve scvhost or varitions on the name. |

| 456851 | 2006-05-24 08:50:00 | thank you so far! but i looked in zone alarm at the history of svchost and there are many difrent things happing. it has discipions and they very from just saying data to outgoing conection and incoming accept. with the zone alarm rating it has high or medium beside each one. also i dont have the choice to let it conect to the net, zone alarm just disides for me. what should i do or be doing? |
