| 458036 | 2006-05-26 20:48:00 | Once and awhile when i turn off my pc for one reason or another to move it to a different location in my home or just to keep it off when im not around i will come back to it, and turn it on but when i do this my monitor sometimes goes into "power saving mode" and then the lighted button that turns on the monitor turns orange. Is there anyway to prevent this from happining in the future? and if not is there some way to get it out of that mode? i usually just reboot a few times and try different things and end up getting lucky after a few hours. I already have tried things like restarting the pc and pressing keys or moving the mouse, but this doesnt seem to work. If you know about this and what i can do, please reply. All info is appreciated. Thx. By the way the monitor i use is a flat screen gateway monitor and my pc runs windows xp. Hope that helps some. |

Or change turn off monitor under power options / power schemes tab, to never. (The last option u usually press a key and the monitor comes back on). If this option is set to 20 or whatever mins. It'll turn the monitor off, until u press a key. |

| 458038 | 2006-05-26 20:59:00 | .... Another quick question in regards to this, is there a down fall to turning off hibernation mode? and if so what might be the risks of having it turned off? | powersave402044 (10459) | ||
