The specified service does not exist as an installed service. C:help::help:kiem:onster This (windowsxp.mvps.org) may help, but it says its only for XP SP2. BUT this guy (forums.practicallynetworked.com) had the same prob, and the reg file fixed it. Dont know if he had SP2 or not. BUT why that message is coming up, I dont know. Are you connected to the net, when you're trying to get SP2, or are you on a networked computer? |

I use a router,before the reformatte was done,this computer was the main computer,I assume it still would be?? anyways 2 computers via router 4 way port,I dont think the're but not sure if networked? Otherwise, you'll be waiting all year, trying to download it. Coz obviously you've tried and it didnt work. What ISP are you with?? Maybe they had probs? I know Ihug had probs last night with dialup. BUT you're not on dialup. You couldnt logon / authenticate / check email, and browsing the net was erratic. Or even call the call centre lol. They were all completely dead. BUT this has now been fixed. |
