| 457424 | 2006-05-24 11:55:00 | This laptop computer has a RJ45 network connector, and a wireless network card installed. When I open the Network Connection from the Control Panel, there is an "Internet Gateway" icon on top of those LAN and Wireless network icons. What is this "Internet Gateway" doing here? Why in some machines, there isn't any "Internet Gateway" icon shown and there is one in this computer? Cheers |

How do I check whether there is any router/ap with UPnP enabled (apparently, no physical router is connected to this laptop), so that I can diable it? At present, Internet is connected to the RJ45 port of this machine and the other end connected to a Dynalink RTA 770 ADSL Router. Cheers? |

| 457428 | 2006-05-25 04:44:00 | The Dynalink RTA 770 ADSL Router will have Universal Plug 'n' Play (UPnP) enabled - I think it used to be a bit of a security hole (maybe still is?) - anyway there should be a setting on the Router's web interface to disable/enable it. I wouldn't worry about it to be honest... |
