457315 2006-05-24 10:47:00 hi
i have an aircard on my laptop to get my emails while on the road. however when i get back to the office & connect to the office network - i can access the web, but my emails locked into the aircard (even when i've taken it out - keeps wanting to dial) - any way of bypassing that.
standard setup on xp home. thanks anyone

457317 2006-05-24 11:47:00 change what network your email uses.

sorry but i have no idea what "aircard" is, what OS you have, or what email client you use or what networks you are connecting to.

457318 2006-05-24 12:05:00 aircard is for road warriors - its a pc card for wireless connection to xtra. it only works in certain areas. so i can sit in the car, check my emails, check for any porn, i mean Press F1.
i have stated my os as xp home. email client is OE. i can't change what network oe uses, as it was all stock standard before the aircard was installed. it's just taken over the stock lan. this was a good idea at the time & i do need it. but it costs $60 pm, free 100mb, then i get charged. so when i'm in the office i want to bypass the aircard & use the lan - its just the usual stock router - no special ips or anything.thanks anyway

457319 2006-05-25 00:03:00 somewhere is OE you can change what network OE uses by default. also make sure "ask before switching connections" is ticked. also in internet optoins check that its set to never dail a conection. i don't use OE so mayby someone else can say where the optoins are.

also check what network the AV email scanner is set to. that tripped me up the other day.

457320 2006-05-25 10:18:00 yes, thanks - have looked into all those, no dice. just keeps wanting the aircard. i've even tried the manufacturer's website, nothing. zanny (10443)
457321 2006-05-25 13:50:00 Theres an option if you go through you Control Panel through Internet Options under the Connections tab (IIRC, im running linux), have a fiddle in there with what its s'posed to use to dial-out. Chilling_Silence (9)
