| 458717 | 2006-05-29 04:13:00 | I have a D-Link DSL-G604T, 4 PCs with Win98 wired in and connected to DSL - works well. All 4 PCs are in a peer to peer LAN - works too. A Laptop with XP-Pro is connected thru wireless to DSL on the same router - works well - BUT I cant connect to the LAN of the other 4 PCs! No IP conficts. Whats the problem? |

| 458718 | 2006-05-29 04:32:00 | And whats the main PC?? 98? XP Home can only have 5 on a network, Pro can have 10. I dont know, what the limit is for 98, if this is what the router is connected to. Most probably less than XP Home or Pro. |

(Geoge C. - From Dawn till Dusk) I can see them all in the configuration menu of the router - names and IP addresses - havend pinged them yet. Shares are all defined. Its a peer to peer net, no dedicated server of any kind, and I think there are no limitations about the number of PCs, there are only 5 anyhow! My wild guess is a problem with NetBEUI, XP is not coming with it and its running on the 98 PCs - I will install it on the XP-laptop and see how it goes! |

The limit is 5 simultaneous SMB connections TO a pc (i.e. if using XP home as a file server, only 5 other (simultaneous) SMB connections can be made to it). Or it might be 5 other PCs connecting to it, I can't remember exactly, but I have run into this issue before. XP Pro has a limit of 10, and Win98 has no limit AFAIK. |
