| 458106 | 2006-05-27 04:06:00 | Hi ppl, my ISP is world-net. Recently it seems taht i am getting speeds of 15-20KB per sec when downloading from international sites (ie microsoft, apple, fileplanet etc) and 200KB per sec when downloading from local NZ sites. I am on a 2mbps plan paying $69.95. They said its normal... and i am like ***? u call 20kb per sec downloading normal... Just wanted to know if u guys have such a problem and what isp is the best to switch to? |

| 458107 | 2006-05-27 04:24:00 | Yes that is rubbish what they told you. Try Actrix as your ISP. They are a small ISP and don't seem to be experienceing the slow broadband speeds that other ISPs have had.Click Here (http://www.actrix.co.nz/) Trevor :) |

| 458111 | 2006-05-27 08:02:00 | i've had some mirrors that have capped upload ie you can only download at 20k. get around that by useing mulitable mirrors all at the same time. however after i did that at a mates recent (xtra is ISP) soon as the download was complete the net was inaccessible (no DNS) untill i powered off the modem ! some more testing needed. |

| 458112 | 2006-05-27 08:09:00 | Same with here, internet slow down on internationals download but Actrix is expensive. I'm using Ihug. Never dowmload stuff from local except mostly europe. | MTLance (6768) | ||

I have access to fileplanet's high speed servers and used to be able to download them at about 210KB per sec few months ago. I tried apple.com/trailers and trailers would load instantly without much buffering. Incl microsfot office updates too |

Why do u say actrix is expensive. I like the idea of a flat rate and slow you down at 64kbps if u exceed say 700mb a day... and that cap is juz for that day. Sounds reasonable to me... coupled with no slow international speeds that might seem to be the perfect choice. |

| 458115 | 2006-05-27 11:10:00 | Yes the Actrix way makes you plan when you want to do a big D/L. I'm on there 2mbs 700mb a day plan and I find it fine. 700mb works out to about 20gb a month for $59-95, $10 more if you don't do your tolls with them. Trevor :) |
