458117 2006-05-27 02:58:00 The right speaker suddenly stopped. I then plugged the speaker plug into my front audio port, and both speakers work.

Anyway I can get the back audio port to work properly again?

458118 2006-05-27 04:18:00 A rather dumb question: Are you sure that you have plucked in the cables of the speakers into the right audio port at the back?

Have you tried adjusting the audio control properties?

Cheers :)

Confused.

You state that you can get it to work, then follow with a question mark?
Ah - the confusion of the english language.

Probably a mechanical issue with the socket I suspect.

Also be careful "plucking" cables as JK suggests, even if it is duck shooting season.

458120 2006-05-27 04:55:00 That is assuming that both audio ports come from the same source (on board or sound card, which would eliminate that as the problem) godfather (25)

After a number of phone calls to and from a person in Waipawa who complained that his microphone did not work I finally drove there. A distance of 269 Km from my place. I had inserted a SoundBlaster Live card in place of the onboard sound and ensured it worked with my speakers and mic.

When he got it home the speakers worked but the microphone didn't.

I went there only to discover the microphone was plugged into the (now disabled) on board AC97.

I had asked over the phone before where was the Mic plugged in and he just went off in a different direction every time.

Why did you drive that far? Did you charge him travel costs?
