458579 2006-05-29 23:24:00 Hi Thanks for your replies.

I was going to say that our PC is only a family PC - but then I do have our accounting software on here, plus accounts for the farm, and I have done some online shopping etc. Hopefully I have everything backed up correctly anyway.
Are the "free" antivirus software, firewalls, antispyware etc available on the disk that comes out with PCWorld or can you recommend a site to download them from. We are WAY out of town so downloads can take ages.
Thanks
Jane

458580 2006-05-29 23:48:00 On this months (June) issue of PC World, there is a DVD with AVG, Spybot and Ad-aware.

All free to use.

458581 2006-05-30 10:13:00 Netguide usually has the ones that PC World doesn't. Between the two of those publications, you can usually find nearly all the safety things you need. supergran (108)
458582 2006-05-30 10:20:00 Please be aware that Windows Defender is not a firewall. If you do not install a third-party firewall then outgoing traffic will not be monitored.

Windows Firewall does not monitor outgoing traffic either!!, only incoming

Edit-Oops, sorry didnt see that was already stated
