458430 2006-05-28 05:07:00 The computer you're trying to install it on maybe too modern or geeky for it.

Or Photoshop is recognising that it supports duo core, which Photoshop 7 may not support?

You maybe right, Speedy. Photoshop 7 maybe is too old for my new notebook!

Never thought of that.

458431 2006-05-28 05:17:00 Another proposal; how about the notion of trying to install the program using XP's Program Compatibility tool?

Cheers :)

It's a wild (good) suggestion. Let's say, it completes the installation process, what about running the program? Run in compatibility , as well??

No, no. don't think I should try it.

Thanks, JamesKan.

Well, I personally don't have a problem with that - at least that's what I think :D

As Speedy suggested, Adobe Photoshop 7 is a rather "old" program. At least, if nothing can be done to alleviate your problem, go for the program compatibility option then.

Cheers and good luck :)

458436 2006-05-28 10:25:00 XP isnt the prob. The prob, maybe the Duo core processor. On this system.

Photoshop 7 will run on XP too. I used to run it.

458437 2006-05-28 10:51:00 How long did you leave it? There was a newsgroup poster that had to wait 15 minutes for it to pass 99%. PS since about Ver 5 has been multi proc capable.

Didn't really time it, but is quite long and it just closes the installation shield wizard by itself. But even so, I do notice some activity is still on. And, when I ejected to CD out, after a while it asks for the CD.

Maybe I should leave it on for much long time even the Instal Shield Wizard has closed.
