| 458175 | 2006-05-27 06:02:00 | I live in a retirement village with a medical alarm system and I want to go onto adsl broadband. The isp's seem to want about $150 installation charge for alarmed phone lines. What do they do for this, and can I do it myself? I think they install a splitter but I need more detail. Any help please? |

| 458176 | 2006-05-27 06:17:00 | they need to wire in a splitter before the alarm connection. mind you it depends on the type of alarm system. a medical system in a retirement village may be seperate to the phone system. ask the maintance person/admin etc they may know. |

| 458177 | 2006-05-27 07:40:00 | Because if the alarm uses your phone line it will affect your broadband. Or vice versa. No unless you have lots of experience wiring up phone jacks then you can't do it yourself. |
