| 459165 | 2006-05-30 14:15:00 | Ok, quick question... Is it possible to set a password on a printer that I have shared on a network? I am running XP Pro SP2. Have looked at a few sites, it says that in '9x/ME you can, but in XP its not available? |

| 459166 | 2006-05-30 21:53:00 | You should be able to by opening the Printers folder then go to Tools - Folder Options - View. Scroll to the bottom of the list and untick Use Simple File Sharing. Now go to the properties of the printer you have shared and there should be a security tab now. In here you can set which users have access to the printer. You will have to set up the users first in the Control Panel - User Accounts |
