458994 2006-05-30 03:37:00 I have just put together a computer amd 3200+ a8n-e motherboard 6600gt graphies card and sound card 2 512 sticks of ram

Computer boots up in bios and then just restarts again. a quick blue screen

Is there anyway the onboard sound doesn't like the sound card

Make sure both sticks are in matching channels.
Or just put a 1 ram stick.

458996 2006-05-30 04:52:00 Go to System Properties (Windows+Pause keys) > Advanced > Startup and Recovery settings and remove the tick from "Automatically restart".

That will hopefully give you an error message in order to try and diagnose the problem.

Usually it's possible to disable the on-board sound through the BIOS .

If you have an sound card, I would consider disabling the on-board sound chipset as a good idea .
