459317 2006-07-20 05:45:00 Hi folks.

Well I just got the pop up window telling me I was low on virtual memory. Knowing nothing about virtual memory I did a "search" and came up with this thread. On my drive C the settings are -

Initial size (MB) 384
Maximum size (MB) 768

The minimum size allowed is 2 MB
Recommended 1534 MB

So I dont make get things wrong, could someone tell me what my initial and maximum sizes should be set at.

Running XP with 1024 MB Ram.

Thanks Smithie

Hi, your page size / virtual memory should be at least 1 & 1/2 x your RAM Min, Double for Max, or in most cases left to be dynamicly adjusted by Windows.

459319 2006-07-20 06:29:00 change the inital size to 1534 and the maximum to 2000 or so.

my guess is you upgraded the ram and didn't adjust the virtual memory hence you have never actually used all of the 1024 meg ram.
