2006-06-02 06:03:00 | Hi Everyone Is it just me or does the ubuntu installer crash at the partitioning stage? For both ubuntu and kubuntu the "espresso" installer crashes. has anyone else experienced this problem?

2006-06-02 06:21:00 | This the full release of Dapper or one of the beta releases? A quick looks shows the beta releases had issues with partitioning and sometimes took out the partition table. Further information (wiki.ubuntu.com)

2006-06-02 06:24:00 | I did have that problem with the beta but this is the (full) release from today (and i would expect it to be fixed.... ) | Dannz (1668) | |
2006-06-02 06:38:00 | Well I guess the bug reports will start to filter out in the next few hours as people install Dapper, and you will see if others report the same issue. Not much help for you right now. I'm currently downloading Kubuntu right now ... I presume the md5sum's were all ok? You are installing on a clean drive and not over the beta?

2006-06-02 07:29:00 | Well I just installed Kubuntu and choose the 1) Erase entire disk option. It has done this, made default partitions and formatted it without any problems. I installed onto hda. What partitioning option did you choose?

2006-06-02 07:42:00 | Went back and reinstalled again. This time I choose to manually edit the partition table and create my own partitions. The installer did this, formatted them and is currently copying all the files across. No sign of any bugs here. | Jen (38) | |
