460220 2006-06-03 23:07:00 Has anyone got the latest version of CCleaner that includes the Yahoo toolbar?

I see they have two flavours now, the adware version (with Yahoo toolbar) and the "Slim" version without. The difference between file downloads is over a megabyte so I'm just wondering whether they have pared down features in the non-adware version or whether that toolbar is hogging the extra megabyte.

I don't want the toolbar so I'm not downloading it to find out. :illogical

460221 2006-06-03 23:15:00 When installing CCleaner it gives you the option of not installing the Yahoo toolbar. Just need to untick the box. CYaBro (73)
460222 2006-06-03 23:24:00 Yeah, that's what we used to have to do but they've changed it to two separate programs now. Have a look on MajorGeeks (http://www.majorgeeks.com/) page to see what I mean.

Interestingly their website isn't showing the two separate programs yet.

460225 2006-06-04 08:03:00 Have a look at this ( . ccleaner . com/downloadbuilds . asp" target="_blank">www . ccleaner . com) . Is that what you're after?
Yes . Thanks CYaBro . Not sure how I missed that page as I thought I gave their site a good trawling .

I downloaded and installed the two non-adware versions but couldn't really see much difference between them . The difference would be very minor if there is any .

I would also be interested to know why the adware version is not listed under the builds suitable for " system admins and advanced users" . Makes me wonder if it has been dumbed down a bit .

Hmmm . . . wonder where I can find a guinea pig . . . :p

Maybe if you actually read the page on the link you will see this:-

24 February 2006: CCleaner is now available without the Yahoo! Toolbar, so we have restored the award and uploaded on our servers (www.softpedia.com) the version without extra languages.

We strive to offer our users only the latest software (www.softpedia.com) versions, therefore we will initially provide the adware (www.softpedia.com) version of CCleaner, as soon as it is released. We will update the listing leaving only the ad-free version when that will be released.
Note "WITHOUT the Yahoo! Toolbar"

460229 2006-06-04 08:28:00 I usually click on the check for updates now link, from within ccleaner.

And get the update (if any) from filehippo. And just untick the Yahoo toolbar option.

I've never seen the small/adware version before.
