| 460057 | 2006-06-02 14:45:00 | DO NOT buy a DSE PCMCIA one. They're OK for low traffic close to the AP, but they have very bad range issues. The USB ones are fine. The cards shouldn't be freezing your laptop - the problem will not be with the cards, but with your laptop. If you post your system details (incl. laptop model/manufacturer, OS version & type etc.) you're more likely to get help with this issue. Also post details of the cards you have tried. |

| 460059 | 2006-06-03 03:26:00 | I've got an old Compaq laptop (Presario 1210) which happily uses a (DSE, discontinued ) USB WiFi adapter. It also uses various PCMCIA card Ethernet cards with no problems. But it would help us to help you if you would tell us what model of Compaq you have. :D |

Can someone help me please. It sounds like your laptop is PCMCIA and not cardbus... As others say the model will answer the question. |
