460042 2006-06-02 10:38:00 I ripped my dvd to have a bonafide back up copy using dvd decrypter and got the .ifo and .vob files. However when I try to use autogk on it, my first trial gave only picture without audio, and my second gave obscenely out of sync audio. How can I get one file from all the files I have now to have a reasonable quality end product?

thanks

460043 2006-06-02 10:44:00 the mods aren't allowed to let people give out information like that in their forum - NZ doesn't have a fair use clause yet, so all ripping of CDs/DVDs is illegial.

Someone might be able to PM you an answer though. I can't help you - there are some good tools out there for backing up to a DVDR, but most tools I've tried for ripping to Xvid haven't worked very well.

460044 2006-06-02 10:47:00 only got a dvd reader, so its my only option. if it makes the mods feel better, the actual truth is that im writing a university paper on the subject. its for research. dda.mann (10489)
460045 2006-06-02 11:00:00 I tried both DVD Decrypter and CloneDVD2, copied the files to hard drive and played them fine from there. Maybe you missed some files out? Mine included VOB, IFO and BUP. Greg (193)
460046 2006-06-02 11:03:00 I can play what i ripped fine, but i cant convert it all into just one .avi file. dda.mann (10489)
