460983 2006-06-06 06:45:00 We've chosen Ihug as the ISP for my sister's new computer, which has now had an internet connection for just over 2 weeks.
I think that's long enough to query whether some aspects of their service are typical - or relate to settings on this machine?

(As I arranged the connection over the phone, it's my responsibility to get it right before leaving town)

Attempts to connect to Ihug's Dialup by clicking on the desktop icon, then entering a password has been giving the above error message about 50% of the time. It usually connects on the 2nd auto-redial, but occasionally takes 3 tries before getting online.
Frankly, I find it really irritating.
I connect through Xtra at home down south. I've never had such a message from them - but they are the phone lines owners, of course....

So is this normal? Busy wee ISP with not enough phone lines for its customers etc..?
If so, we may reconsider the choice.
