460671 2006-06-05 09:50:00 You mean like Intel war? I think Microsoft is taking the lead in todays world. Many programmes are so easy to use + many software developers build softwares for Windows because it is easy to use, so many resources are available.
And Linux is a rival of Mircosoft but not many software build for Linux. e.g. Games.

460672 2006-06-05 10:02:00 ...but not many software built for LinuxHave you looked? There is a huge array of software for Linux, and much, much more of it is free. Linux also has online software repositories - Windows has nothing like it. Try looking at Synaptic [edit: you can find it in the 'Applications' menu] - the programs available through the default repositories are only a few of the vast number on offer. Erayd (23)
460673 2006-06-05 10:07:00 Don't know much about Linux and who really cares. If they're not interested in Linux unless I've no other OS to use to force me looking for softwares. MTLance (6768)
460674 2006-06-05 10:11:00 Don't know much about Linux and who really cares.Obviously you do, seeing as you took the time to try it out. However as you don't seem to want to put in the time to learn about it, you would probably be better off sticking with Windows for now - it seems to suit you better. Erayd (23)

for one macintosh is not a OS, it is a make of computer from apple, If you have spent more then five minutes on a different os you will find that the software is just as easy if not easier then the windows equilivant.
there is more to life then just games and untill you realise this there ain't much point looking for a different os

460676 2006-06-05 10:16:00 Macintosh needs to be broken into:

Mac OS 9
Mac OS 10.2
Mac OS 10.3
Mac OS 10.4

And after all I this .. I don't really care too much as far as a desktop goes (People ask me all the time) After all it the apps you actually use that are more important.

In the end where I work people get what they want to use..

I always find it quite funny running into the zealots... :D

Exactly, since you're a student and you don't have much time looking around for solving problems. Sorry English is not first language. I've use Windows for years and hardly even taking my computer to the computer shop. Not ever I guess, except getting PC parts. Don't know much about Linux but will try harder to learn it if I have time.

Sorry English is not first language. Not a problem, usually it's not too hard to understand what you're saying. You're not doing too badly considering.
