2006-06-05 07:04:00 Should I reinsall the whole Ubuntu system again??? MTLance (6768)
2006-06-05 07:05:00 Well I installed (K)Ubuntu the other day, and it uses the same installer program. It asked you for your fullname, a nickname and a password. It also asked for your computer name futher down that same page.

If you have no idea what you might of put in this field, then the easiest thing would be to reinstall again. It will only take 15-20 mins.

2006-06-05 07:08:00 I'll reinstall again, but where is the thing you create the user name? It only shows create password. MTLance (6768)
2006-06-05 07:17:00 By the way, Which installation option should I choose? Install in OEM mode or Install in text mode? I've tried OEM mode but can't create user account from there. MTLance (6768)
2006-06-05 07:25:00 Put the CD in the drive and boot from it. At the first prompt just hit Enter. The LiveCD version of Ubuntu will load so just wait. Once the desktop has loaded, click on the Install Icon on the desktop. This will open up the graphical installer, so use that. Jen (38)
2006-06-05 07:31:00 I'm not using Windows on that system except only Linux OS. MTLance (6768)
2006-06-05 07:34:00 I'm not using Windows on that system except only Linux OS.What does this comment relate to? It is the second time you have mentioned this and I am not sure why. Jen (38)
2006-06-05 07:39:00 I don't think I can see any icons in BIOS mode right? MTLance (6768)
2006-06-05 07:53:00 Right. I am beginning to suspect you have downloaded the previous version of Ubuntu despite you mentioning the 6.06 version in your other thread. Did your ISO have a 5.10 or a 6.06 in the file name? The previous (5.10) version came in either a installation CD or a LiveCD. They were two different CDs. The latest version 6.06 has made the LiveCD an installable version.

Please post back with the exact file name of the ISO you are using.

2006-06-05 08:27:00 I've downloaded Linux Ubuntu Version 6.06 i386. And managed to run it fine at the moment but one question can we share files with Windows XP using this Ubuntu version above? And does Linux takes quite a lot of space? Quite weird to me that used up 2GB+ MTLance (6768)
