| 461560 | 2006-06-08 07:45:00 | hi everyone, i have a XFX 256mb 5200 AGP card, recently i noticed the fan over the processor is not working. Its almost a week now but there is no problem with my AGP card. i would like to know if i could replace the fan or is it alright if i leave it alone. please someone advice |

| 461563 | 2006-06-11 04:47:00 | thanks guys for your advice i was not able to find any gpu coolers in my area (bangalore),since it was not available in the market. So i got a ADM CPU cooler and fixed it to my AGP card heat sink. The cooler is working fine. I just have to know that before i had a small cooler fan now i have a slightly bigger fan, will there be any problem if the AGP card processor gets some extra cooling? |

So long as the fan works properly it doesn't matter if its bigger. It NEEDS a fan or the GPU will cook - like your CPU. Some GPUs run hotter than CPUs, although probably not the 5200. If you kept running it with no fan you may have caused some damage already. |

| 461568 | 2006-06-11 10:42:00 | A fan on a 5200 is a gimmick, much like the 256mb of ram.... You can run those babies with passive cooling, sure you can't overclock em, but then an OC would only get you running a modern game at 3 frames per 5 seconds rather then 2 frames per 5 seconds..... |
