Since the introduction of the faster download speed and slightly higher data caps, I am now approaching my data limit much faster than ever and have to scale back my surfing so I don't breach my cap. On the old plan with the smaller cap (and lower speed) I never came near my data cap......just my observations.

P.S. I think it was YouTube that blew away my usage.....too much surfing video clips.

However

This type of theory really comes from users using lower speed connections like 128K or dialup connections for example and then going to high speed broadband. These users generally do use more usage as they brows more web pages (as they don't have to wait large amounts of time for them to DL), than they would have on dialup. They are also more likely to start downloading larger files than they would have on say dialup. So in this circumstance higher usage is almost guaranteed.
