1403922 2015-06-30 00:50:00 Somehow, I got to reinstall my Win8 Pro (Promo version) using the Win8.1 ISO I downloaded. Installation went very smoothly - it accepted my Product Key, took only about 10 minutes.

Installed all my device drivers , all OK.

Only thing is, I CANNOT disable the annoying LOCK screen -

in gpedit -> Administrative Templates -> Control Panel -> Personalization -> "Do not display the lock screen" isn't available.

Using regedit method, changed the value to 1 rebooted, the lock screen still stubbornly pops up before I could log in.

What shall I do next?

1403924 2015-06-30 01:04:00 OK. Got it sorted!

After a few restarts, and Win Updates, GPEDIT did the job.
